What to do on the day of Griha Pravesh

Clean the entire house

Clean the house thoroughly before the Griha Pravesh Puja so that it looks welcoming. This will invite positive energy into your home. The first thing you should buy for the house is a broom to get rid of all the dirt before the ceremony and start afresh. Mop every corner of your house before starting the puja. Mop the floor with salt water to clean and purify the place.

Spray in the house

Sprinkle Ganga water in your entire house. Place a Kalash of Ganga water in a corner of the house. Place raw mango leaves on this Kalash. Ganga water has a pure energy which removes negative energies from the house.

Flower decoration for housewarming

Decorate the entire house with flowers, apart from the main door and the Griha Pravesh puja area. Use fresh flowers for overhead hangings, arches, corners and centrepieces for tables.
